On the 21st of October, one year ago, the lives of all of us who stood close to Nils were turned upside down. The grief is undescribable and working with the Nils Einar Foundation has helped Nils mother and father to move forward, with Nils being ever present. Today, it is with great sadness that we observe that the foundation will be more necessary than ever before, as it is a highly polarised society in which our young people are growing up. Many means of growth and spiritual support have been deprioritised or completely shut down. We believe that we, together with you, will be able to make a difference. We will work with every mother and father who are trying to make a difference, keeping in mind that young people have the right to professional support in a society where the rights of young people are often disregarded. We are proud to announce that our first project will be to support and cooperate with two organisations that we know are making a difference.

I don’t believe that you become a criminal by listening to music. And every kid who likes me has heard me speak in my interviews. I always speak the truth. I’m not up to any mischief any more. In my song “Nu vi skiner (Now we’re shining)”, I sing that I’m not hanging out in the town square anymore, that I’m not dealing with drugs anymore. And that the money I’m earning now, is legal money.

– I’m constantly writing. At home, in the studio, out in town, everywhere. Wherever I go I’ll always make sure to write lyrics or think of new melodies. And my songs always turn out best when I write them in a hurry. For example, “Katten i trakten (The Cat in the hood)” and many other of my best songs, I’ve written in 20 minutes.

 – The world that I rap about, it exists out there. Fifteen year olds are carrying guns, and people are being killed. That’s the reality of Sweden today. And yet, violence and crime are being shown everywhere. Four year old kids play ‘GTA’ and other video-games where they rob and run over people. If we’re allowing this, then we must allow people to tell stories about that reality, that really exists.
