Nils Einár Foundation

We wish to contribute to worthy living conditions for exposed, exploited and forgotten children, youngsters, and their families. We will be there for those whose faith in a kinder world has diminished to nothing. The foundation is registered at the county administration by the name “Insamlingsstiftelsen Nils Einar Grönberg Foundation” which was founded by Lena Nilsson with family after the death of her son Nils, publicly known as Einár – one of Sweden’s most loved artists. Despite his young age, Einár used his words to create, depict and change. “After many conversations with Nils through the years, I know that he had this dream, of a safe meeting place where he and other young people could engage in a creative milieu, where you’d be seen and heard for who you really are. I compose myself, my grief and love, in order to make a difference, together with you”
– Lena Nilsson.

Nils Einár Foundation wishes to make this vision of Einár come true. Through supporting non-profit organisations, and awarding scholarships to individuals who work in Nils Einar Grönbergs creative and artistic spirit. Where love and consideration are the key words in all forms of artistry.

Dear fellow human beings,

A short while after Nils was taken from us, a mother reached out to me. Her young son was locked up. She also had other small children. Naturally, she was worried. Nils had spoken to her. He told her how to stay in touch with her son. He gave her the number of a good lawyer. She mentioned that Nils thought she should talk to me. He told her that the three of us could talk together. She shared that Nils had told her he loved his mom very much.

It was like a final message about everything he wanted to do. Nils often told me that many people don’t have it like we do; he said we must help them. Nils wanted to buy many hectares of land and convert it into a large farm, with a school, football field, race track, film studios, and, of course, music studios. With trembling hands and many tears, I have founded this foundation in Nils’ name.

For Nils’ sake and for the sake of all children. And for us adults who are meant to guide…

Grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, courage to change the things we can, and wisdom to know the difference.
